Industrial Water Chillers — Made in the USA Since 1948

Chillers for
Dry Cleaning

Closed-loop water cooling for commercial dry cleaning equipment. The Rite-Temp DCS series was engineered specifically for this industry — eliminating tap water costs while delivering reliable, consistent cooling for wash loads up to 500 lbs.

Built for the Dry Cleaning Industry

Dry cleaning machines require chilled water to cool solvent recovery and condensing systems during the cleaning cycle. Most dry cleaners historically drew tap water and dumped it to the sewer — a costly practice. A Rite-Temp closed-loop chiller recirculates the same water continuously, eliminating those monthly water and sewer charges entirely.

Rite-Temp's DCS series is the result of over 75 years serving this industry. The new open-tank design offers a larger water volume, removable insulated lid for easy service, and is available in four tonnages to match any commercial dry cleaning operation.

  • Closed-Loop System — Recirculates water to eliminate ongoing tap water and sewer costs.
  • Open Stainless Steel Tank — Larger water volume, easy cleanout, removable insulated lids.
  • Multiple Configurations — Tank/pump/refrigeration all-in-one; modular outdoor condenser; split indoor/outdoor.
  • R422D Refrigerant — EPA-compliant formulation.
  • Compatible with Major Brands — Union, Realstar, Columbia, and others.
  • Copeland Scroll Compressors — Industry-standard reliability in 8, 10, and 12 ton dual-compressor designs.

Key Features & Benefits

Eliminate Water & Sewer Costs

Closed-loop recirculation ends the costly practice of drawing tap water and dumping it to the sewer after each cooling cycle.

Open Stainless Steel Tank

Rectangular 304 SS tank with removable insulated lid allows full cleanout and service access — impossible with the old closed cylinder design.

Flexible Configurations

All-in-one unit, modular outdoor condenser, or split indoor/outdoor — Rite-Temp configures the DCS for your space and utility layout.

Remote Control Panel

Optional indoor-mounted remote control panel keeps the interface accessible even when the condenser is installed outdoors or in a remote location.

Staged Dual Compressors

DCS8 through DCS12 use two independent compressors. Staged operation matches cooling output to load, reducing wear and operating costs.

Compatible with Major Brands

DCS chillers are compatible with Union, Realstar, Columbia, and other leading commercial dry cleaning equipment manufacturers.

Dry Cleaning Chiller FAQ

Why do dry cleaning machines need a water chiller?+
Dry cleaning machines require chilled water to cool the solvent recovery and condensing systems during the cleaning cycle. Without a chiller, operators draw tap water and drain it — a practice that generates substantial monthly water and sewer costs. A Rite-Temp closed-loop chiller recirculates the same water, eliminating those ongoing expenses entirely.
What dry cleaning equipment brands are compatible with the DCS series?+
Rite-Temp DCS chillers are compatible with major dry cleaning equipment brands including Union, Realstar, Columbia, and others. Contact us at 1.800.462.3120 to confirm compatibility with your specific equipment model before ordering.
What is the difference between the DCS6 and the larger DCS models?+
The DCS6 uses a single 6-ton Copeland Scroll compressor and an 82-gallon tank. The DCS8, DCS10, and DCS12 all use dual independent compressors with a 105-gallon tank for staged load operation. The larger tank in the 8–12 ton models also provides additional thermal mass for higher-volume operations.
Can a DCS chiller be installed outdoors?+
Yes. Rite-Temp DCS chillers are available in modular configurations with an outdoor air-cooled condenser and indoor tank and pump assembly. The weatherproof electrical panel and low-ambient fan cycling control support outdoor installations. A remote control panel option allows indoor temperature monitoring and adjustment.
What size DCS chiller do I need for my operation?+
DCS chiller sizing depends on your equipment's heat load and the number of machines running simultaneously. A single machine typically requires a DCS6; multiple machines or higher-volume operations may need DCS8, DCS10, or DCS12. Call 1.800.462.3120 and our team will help you size correctly for your specific configuration.
